Babysitter Training

In-Person Workshop, for ages 12-16

Prepare your child to babysit with confidence in our Babysitter Training class in Southfield, Michigan, taught in a hands-on, interactive format. Designed for kids ages 12–16, this course covers the essential skills every young caregiver needs, from infant care to emergency response.

Participants will learn:

  • Infant and child care basics: feeding, diapering, swaddling, holding, and handling babies safely.

  • CPR and choking first aid for children and infants

  • Emergency response skills and basic first aid, including attending to wounds and burns

  • Safety strategies for home and public environments

  • Creative ways to entertain children and keep them engaged

By the end of the workshop, participants receive a certificate of completion in Babysitter Training from The American Red Cross, giving them the knowledge and confidence to care for children responsibly.
