Body Basics for Boys: In-Person Workshop

School covers some basics, but that doesn’t always mean boys get the chance to ask the questions they’re really curious about. Turning Teen creates a safe, friendly space where boys can learn, talk, and feel more comfortable about the changes ahead.
In this class, they'll explore:

Respect for their own bodies and the bodies of others

In this virtual workshop, we’ll share why sleep is so important, the four biggest obstacles keeping families from getting it, and three simple strategies to help you and your baby or toddler rest easier.

Understanding Big Emotions & Toddler Tantrums - In-Person Workshop
*Adults only
Join us for a supportive and practical class designed for parents or caregivers of toddlers navigating the whirlwind of big feelings, tantrums, and challenging behaviors.
Together, we’ll explore what’s really going on in your child’s developing brain, how to respond in ways that build emotional regulation and connection, and how to stay grounded when emotions run high for both you and your child.
You’ll leave with tools to use at home, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of your toddler’s emotional world.

Girls Body Care - In-Person Workshop
*For girls ages 10+ and a trusted adult
Puberty is a big adventure and it can feel a little confusing when your body starts to change in so many ways. The good news? You don’t have to figure it out alone! This class helps girls learn what’s happening, ask questions, and feel confident in their own skin.
Here’s what we’ll cover (in a fun, real-talk way):
Finding the right bra and feeling good in it
Why our bodies sweat and how to stay fresh
Hair here, there, and everywhere—what’s normal and what’s up to you
Skin care tips for healthy, glowing skin
Building confidence and self-respect from the inside out
Periods and period care, with a hands-on demo using pads and tampons

Babysitter Training - In-Person Workshop
*For kids ages 11-15
This course teaches essential child care basics including, feeding, diapering, swaddling, and how to hold and handle infants and babies.
Kids will learn CPR and choking first aid, how to respond in an emergency, attend to wounds and burns, find creative ways to entertain younger children, and develop strategies to keep themselves and the children they care for safe at home and while in public.
By the end of the workshop, participants will earn a certificate of completion in Babysitter Training from The American Red Cross to be ready to babysit with confidence!

Friends & Family CPR - In-Person Workshop
*Ages 12+
Family & Friends CPR equips participants with essential lifesaving skills, including adult Hands-Only CPR, child CPR with breaths, infant CPR, AED use for adults and children, and techniques for managing mild and severe airway block in all age groups.
Taught in a dynamic group setting using the American Heart Association’s proven practice-while-watching method, this course maximizes hands-on practice to build confidence and skill.
Please note: this course does not provide a Heartsaver card or certification.

Join Dr. Vera for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the essentials of babywearing—safety, comfort, and how to pick the perfect wrap or sling for you and your little one.
