CPR & Choking First Aid

Gain the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency with Bloom U’s CPR & First Aid workshops, taught by an American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructor.

Learn lifesaving techniques for adults, children, and infants, including CPR, AED use, choking response, and basic first aid. Classes include Friends & Family CPR and CPR for Kids.

Friends & Family CPR

Ages 12+

Join our Family & Friends CPR class in Southfield, Michigan, led by certified American Heart Association instructor Jen Shea. This hands-on, in-person CPR training is perfect for families, parents, caregivers, and anyone ages 12+ who wants to learn essential lifesaving skills in a supportive group environment at our Bloom U classroom.

In this interactive course, you’ll learn:

  • Adult Hands-Only CPR

  • Child CPR with breaths

  • Infant CPR

  • AED use for adults and children

  • Techniques for managing mild and severe choking (airway blockage) in all age groups

Using the AHA’s proven practice-while-watching method, instructor Jen Shea ensures plenty of hands-on CPR practice so you leave feeling confident and prepared to act in an emergency.

Please note: This is a non-certification CPR course and does not include a Heartsaver or completion card.

CPR for Kids

*Ages 8-12

Empower your child with lifesaving skills in our CPR for Kids class in Southfield, Michigan, led by American Heart Association instructor Jen Shea at the Bloom U classroom. Designed for kids ages 8–12, this fun and interactive course introduces the basics of emergency response and CPR in a supportive, age-appropriate setting.

Kids will learn:

  • The essential steps of the “Chain of Survival”

  • How to recognize cardiac arrest and call 911

  • How to perform Hands-Only CPR

  • How to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

This engaging, hands-on course helps children build confidence to act in an emergency and reinforces the importance of teamwork and quick thinking.
