Bee Prepared Academy
A one-of-a-kind program created by Bloom U, Bee Prepared Academy is designed to empower kids ages 7–16 with real-world safety skills, confidence, and leadership.
Created in collaboration with Bloom Pediatrics, Bee Prepared Academy workshops are led by experienced Bloom Nurses and Nurse Practitioners giving kids the opportunity to learn, practice, and master essential life-saving techniques in a fun and supportive environment.
Modeled after the achievement style of scouting programs, participants can earn their official Bee Prepared Academy backpack and badge by completing engaging workshops over the course of a calendar year. Each session focuses on practical, age-appropriate skills that kids can carry with them for life:
First Aid Squad (ages 7–11)
Heart Saver Heroes (ages 7–11)
Ready Responders (ages 7–16)
American Red Cross Babysitter Training (ages 12–16)
All workshops are open to the public and can be taken individually or as part of the full Bee Prepared Academy curriculum.

Babysitter Training
6-Hour Workshop | Ages 12–16
Give your child the skills and confidence to step into their first babysitting job with Bee Prepared Academy’s hands-on workshop American Red Cross Babysitter Training for ages 12–16. This high-energy session turns students into capable caregivers as they practice real childcare basics like safely holding an infant, swaddling, diapering, feeding, and burping. Through guided instruction and interactive demos, kids gain practical experience as they build confidence, responsibility, and childcare readiness in a fun, supportive environment. By the end, students aren’t just learning—they’re stepping into the role of a trusted sitter.
First Aid Squad
1-Hour Workshop | Ages 7–11
In this hands-on Bee Prepared Academy workshop, kids learn how to step up and help in everyday emergencies with confidence and care. Led by our Bloom Pediatrics Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, First Aid Squad introduces essential safety skills in a fun, age-appropriate way.
Heart Saver Heroes
1-Hour Workshop | Ages 7–11
In this interactive Bee Prepared Academy workshop, kids learn how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies with confidence. Led by our Bloom Pediatrics Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, Heart Saver Heroes introduces essential CPR and emergency response skills in a way that’s engaging, approachable, and age-appropriate.
Ready Responders
1-Hour Workshop | Ages 7–16
Ready Responders is an interactive home fire safety workshop for kids ages 7–16, led by Greg Vick of the Royal Oak Fire Department. Students learn how fires start by exploring the fire triangle and common household risks like cooking, candles, and electrical hazards. Through engaging visuals and discussion, kids begin to see themselves as active participants in home safety.
