Ready Responders is an interactive Bee Prepared Academy home fire safety workshop led by Greg Vick of the Royal Oak Fire Department.

The workshop centers on escape planning, with students mapping their home, identifying two exits, and choosing a safe meeting spot. They practice key actions like “get out, stay out, and call 9-1-1,” along with hands-on skills like Stop, Drop & Roll and crawling under smoke.

Students learn how fires start by exploring the fire triangle and common household risks like cooking, candles, and electrical hazards. Through engaging visuals and discussion, kids begin to see themselves as active participants in home safety.
